Actions

An advisory council action is any prepared advice, recommendation or work product offered collectively by the advisory council through consensus or majority vote. Advisory council actions may include, but are not limited to, motions, resolutions, letters and reports; and exclude administrative actions, such as the approval of meeting agendas, minutes, work plans, charters or charter amendments, and the formation of subcommittees or working groups. American Samoa sanctuary advisory council actions dating from 2012 to the present are provided below along with links to relevant documents.

2014

August 25, 2014: A Call to Action from the Marine Protected Areas Federal Advisory Committee and the National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Councils
The advisory council voted to support the Call to Action Joint Statement by the Marine Protected Areas Federal Advisory Committee and the National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Councils "Destination Marine Protected Areas: Sustaining America's Most treasured Ocean Places for Recreation and Stewardship."

2012

1-5-12: Comments on Draft Management Plan / Draft Environmental Impact Statement
Advisory council members present at the January 4, 2012 meeting (click here for meeting minutes) voted to collectively submit a letter to Sanctuary Superintendent providing comments on the sanctuary’s draft management plan/DEIS. The letter also lists the council members present for the vote.
